automation into existing homes. In these cases, we use mainly wireless (radio-connected) components to minimize disruption.

 

2. How does a home automation system work?

  • Wired (bus/cable): Devices connect via network cables that send commands (e.g., wall switches to dimmers in a central board).

  • Wireless (radio): Smart switches replace traditional ones, allowing control directly or via central controllers, apps, or voice assistants.

 

3. What are scenes, moods, routes, and modes?

  • Scenes/Moods: Pre-set lighting and device configurations triggered with one button (e.g., “Movie Night” closes curtains, dims lights, and powers on TV).

  • Routes: Automations that light your path when arriving home (e.g., garage → passage → staircase).

  • Modes: Whole-home settings like “Holiday Mode” (house simulates occupancy), “Semi-Auto” (motion-based lights), or “Manual.”

 

4. Will I still have manual control?

 

Yes. Even with full automation, you retain manual control over every light circuit and device at any time.
